    Hello.

I am thinking of buying this beret, and could do with some advice.
Am I right in thinking it's a telecommunications badge and from the 80's?
Is there a gentle way to clean it or should it be left alone
How much (if anything) should I pay?

    Hope you can help.

    Brian.

Brian....wrong badge on beret ! it is a black beret, for either Panzer, Panzer Aufklarung or Panzerjager...the badge is for Fernmeldetruppen (Signals) which should be on a red beret........see this thread, http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/bundes...ft-caps-42195/
It is worth getting if cheap, (around 4.00) you can always swop out the badges..they are held on with 4 prongs that are easily bent for removal and reattachment. Berets were worn by Jager, Panzer & Fallschirmjager from the late 1960's (the badges on these berets were deviod of the German flag emblem) the rest of the BW took them up from around 1979 to present.
    Prost ! Steve.

    Interesting.

    Thanks for the information Steve.
It always makes me wonder if there is anything genuinely untouched and as made. Most things seem to have been fiddled with at some point.
It's a shame the label is worn and the beret cannot be accurately dated....

    Thanks again,

    Brian.
