Hello all, I've stumbled upon a pile of the later Moleskin M43 style work caps at my local surplus store. I bought one that fit me but the others don't seem to sell. My questions are, is it a rarer cap and is it a bad thing to wear one? Thanks everyone for the help.

As a general rule of thumb, it's only a bad thing to wear a hat whilst indoors, exceptions are; if you are bowling, are visiting a sports store or have just had a particularly bad haircut. It's rather like wearing brown shoes with a black suit, not the done thing old boy.

    Now post some pic's.

Post war M43 style german bundeswehr cap. (which you already noted)

Love these! smart looking and comfortable.

Check out this link. They still sell them so I don't think they are rare. My boys have the camo version.

( Ned, you have class - or at least a sense of style )

No stupid questions, and no harm wearing this type
of cap, but only if it suits you.........

I wear it with the pinch crease and cocked back, similar to the original. It's a nice cap.

Cheers for the pics I can't say if these are rarer, but they look nicer and have the aged look that looks great, I agree with Steve on the wear ability, nice cap and one I don't have in my junk pile.

Indeed a nice cap, not seen that often these days but not rare, it is of course as stated the moleskin version, there was an earlier HBT version with "crossed swords with cockade" badge attached, much rarer...............as for wearing, horses for courses !
    Prost ! Steve.
