Water Bottle Set BW 62

G'day All

Here's a set that was long forgotten in my junk pile, given to me by a former work mate back in the 90's

Rene, a nice early water bottle/canteen set, mm PSL 62 (Paul Schulze & Co., Lübeck 1962).
This style came out in 1959 and is still around in one form or another today, although just the bottle (in photo #1) is used in a canvas pouch held to the new style belt by "alice clips". In the 1970's it lost its NBC/ABC rough paint, job and it got a smooth gelb-olive paint finish....I have just got hold of one myself....now I have all the bottles used by the BW 1955-present !

Good thread, I found one dated 68. It came with some other stuff. Did not know much about it till now.

Here you go René, I just snapped a couple of pictures. Like I said, it came with a some other things and I really paid it no mind.

Looks to be a '68 marked bottle with a '61 marked cup. It also looks like the cup was heated over an open flame. The bottle seems stuck in the lower cover.

I guess these are much like most military items, especially the more common ones......you just don't appreciate the thought that went into its design until you really give it a good look.
