Im afraid the whole cap is IMO a fake from top to bottom, fibre glass peak, fake insignia, fake cap cords, wrong lining, the interior looks to be glued all round, there are some fantastic original caps on the forum, and it would help you no end if you viewed them, courtesy of FB and a few other exceptional collectors
Yes, this definately looks like a bad fake IMO.
I must concur with my colleagues. This cap is a total poor attempt at replicating a genuine black officer cap. Use the search engine as there are many fine original examples posted. For your information, calling this cap "Allgemeine SS" is incorrect as the black cap was part of the dress uniform for all branches of the SS prior to the onset of the war.
LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
Well thank you everybody for your help, i saw this online and the seller said that it was genuine, i was pretty sure it was a fake and wanted a second opion and here i got it so thanks
I agree with the others... a very BAD fake. My cat could do a better job faking a visor cap.
As FB keeps reminding us with these photos of fabulous
caps - the answer to the above question lies within
FB, by any chance do u have a seperate topic for those white Allgs parade gloves? Thanks in advance!
