Any idea of date PLEASE??
Hi All, A field cap that I aquired several years ago but which has lived in a box more or less since purchase. I believe it to be a shooting association cap but have no idea of date. I may have shown this cap before but can not find the thread nor the response so perhaps I didn't?? Can you please identify the cap and give me an idea of date?? Many thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to give.
Regards Michael Ryan

Judging by the construction and style of button - post war. NH

I'd say post-war also , felt tipped markers were invented after the war .

Due to the reverse of the sweatband I'd also say post war. Looks very cheap - perhaps for a music band for carnival?

Hi All, Thank you for your comments and opinions. My opinion is that it was possibly a fairly early Post War shooting association cap minus badge. You have confirmed my opinion to a large extent so it can now go into the disposal box. Re the felt tip, I only noticed it for the first time when I was taking the photos and as you say Chris, a Post War invention.
Thank you once again
