I would say school or religious but don't think it is military
Looking for following WWII German items:
    - anything dealing with Allenstein (Olsztyn) and Wehrkreis I in East Prussia,
    - entrenching tool carrier (straight and folding),
    - forestry and hunting items,

No, I dont think so either. My guess would be it was worn by someone in the legal profession.

Hi Douglas, Thank you for your comment. Yes when in uniform but when taking church (as opposed to field) sevices when wearing eccumenical robes etc a matching cap was worn. In any event, the wearer was probably non military??

Hi again Douglas, My first thoughts were legal and not religious, However, I saw a photo of some priests who appear to be wearing this style of cap??
    Cheers again Michael R
