Default black overseas cap with skull

please review the attached and tell me if this is a poor fake or original and in either case what does the insignia represent? It is crudely attached to the cap. The cap has a silver piping and black interior. Neither the cap nor the insignia glow under black light. there is no label in the cap. Thanks Joe

Besides all of the correct information you have been told, trapazoid shaped insignia was not worn on schiffen. They used a two piece insignia of either an eagle and national colors cocarde on Heer, Luftwaffe and Kreigsmarine schiffen or eagle and totenkopf on SS caps. A very poor attempt on the part of the faker.

Please dont take this the wrong way but I don't pay attention to the dating and source of really poor fakes so I dont know and dont care as the information is irrelevant and unimportant. As Bob said the trapezoid is a kindergartenesque copy of an SS panzer trap, found on black EM/NCO M43 caps commonly made in Dachau. This cap should simply be burned and forgotten about.
