I'm not a specialist for these (if I'm a specialist for anything at all) but I believe to have seen this kind of cap with the braided peak somewhere (and it was post war and civilian). If you had it in your hands you could check the braiding - is it oilcloth or more modern patent leather (feels soft)? A pity the lining is missing, as the RZM-tag (shoud there have been one which I doubt) has gone with it. A propos RZM - any chances of seeing the reverse of the buckle? There should be an RZM stamp there as well.

I have my doubts with this cap, IMO a civilian post war cap, hopefully for you I am contradicted by the experts. Can't comment on the badge, I don't know anything about these.

I agree with the above--civilian cap.
You want to see an RZM tag on the inside, and an RZM marking on the rear of the buckle.
