In such pristine condition, I would like to know its history these last 80 years before considering it original. Was it locked in an airtight safe?

Pristine condition doesn't always insinuate an item is bad. As I've said before, there are authentic artifacts out there that appear to be no older than a day and fake items which look a hundred years old. Judging an item based on its condition is kind of like the black-light test; it is almost useless.
