    Default Early SS cap

    Gday gents,
I was over at a mates place this morning and he showed me this cap, it looks pretty authentic to me but there is every likely hood that I'm wrong so I wondered whether I could have a more informed opinion from those who are much more knowledgeable on this subject than I will ever be. It has an rzm tag which I thought should not be there but according to Wikipedia these tags were found in caps like this much earlier than I'd have expected. It'll take a couple of posts to upload the pics I have but any opinions will be much appreciated. Thanks fellas.

From these pics alone, most probably bad - though wait
for more experienced members to weigh in
    with their thoughts..........

Thanks Steve, having dramas loading up the other pics anyway so I might try a bit later, sometimes this iPad needs a recovery rest period!

The tag included is not for cap makers, as they have either A1 and A2, but this is for cloth insigna (A4).
It looks to me as a fake, but I am not sure. If there was one it is a large tag white one, which has the
wording Tuchmütze. Even the early visored caps (SS-Dienstmütze) do have a large white tag,
    anyway since about 1934.

It is possible some person - not knowing facts - "glued" in the wrong
    tag postwar.
From photos I can't make out if the cap could be okay. It's the "touch
and smell". The sweat-band seems replaced into a black one.

Such SS Toepfe or Shaftmuetzen or whatever have been faked for decades, and as Wim points out, this enclosure is very likely one of these.
