    Partially because of some direct experience, but I will never say, unlike others, that the master cap maker at Clemens Wagner showed me how to make caps in August 1937, as is the case elsewhere.

    My mother got her driver's license in 1937, though.

    I can say that I do own a real SS cap with a green lining, but not this green lining. It is not a black SS cap, though.

    I don't have the SheaBeaver (which I can't say without smiling thanks to steveR ) book to see the cap. But thanks for adding the photos in the post above. I like how the Skull is positioned so high on the band.
