    Default Feldmütze Identification

I am looking for opinions on identifying this Feldmütze. It was acquired almost 30 years ago so it is not a recent, post-cold war reproduction. There is no particular story or provenance tied to it. Is it a full repro, a Franken-Feldmütze (maybe right cap/wrong patches) or original. Plenty of wear inside, but everything is very well made and well stitched. If not original, any ideas (e.g., post war border patrol?). Thanks!

I don't like it - the insignia look bad imo
    Better photos are needed.

Here are a few more photos. If nothing is original, what don't you like and what about value to a reenactor? It seems like a decent repro from a quality perspective or is it too incorrect even for that (in terms of badges, placement, buttons, etc.)?

The eagle is incorrect - it is the type found on trapezoid insignia.
Backing material of the skull is odd as well.

The cap itself looks like a decent repro as you say, but how
much would someone - even a re-enactor want
    to pay - $30.........?
    Regards,

    Steve.

I added a few more recent pictures of the details on the flap and vent. Based on what else has been posted on this site, it looks like a Janke repo, is that probably correct? No chance of being original even if the patches have been noted as being fake? Explanations of what is wrong is appreciated.

The best giveaways are those silly eagle/swastika stamps. For the rest see here: M43 SS Cap With Insignia.
or here: SS M1943 Einheitsfeldmutze Cap. Is it real?

or do a research on this page yourself!
