Genuine Panzer officer ?

Hi Guys,
Been wondering about this one. Can you give me any advise.
Very small size 54, 55 something like that, Salty (I think thats what you guys called used / soiled) dark blue cotton ? liner. The liner is not padded bit it has a stiffend kind of hesian / sacking material behind it (I think Americans call it Burlap ?).
The two buttons are fake (as in they are not buttons but have fold-out prongs on the back.
The eagle is hand stitched on. and is made of bullion wire.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Chris, not a wartime cap.

Most likely a post war working cap as these were popular attire in the 1950/60's. The insignia etc has been added to try and make it into something it is not.
