German Visor cap

Article about: The small metal pin on it is for the 116th Pz. Div, they where involved in heavy fightings in Normandie. But as already stated, new fake.

    Default German Visor cap

    Hello, I am new to the forum and just began collecting. I found this hat at a yard sale. I was told it belonged to the ladys father who was in Europe during the war but they new nothing about it.If anyone can shed some light on it will be very much appreciated.

    It really looks old and used, maybe a movie prop or something like that.

    It's possible Don but look how brand spanking new the chinstrap is compared to the wear on the rest of the cap. But for $10 it's not too bad.

    I believe from the material used that it is a current Latvian fake. The bullion is Pakinstani. One way to tell is with the national cokade. The black is always black thread on pakistani fakes rather than black bullion wire. Period bullion wreaths ALWAYS have balck bullion wire.
    Please note the original from my insignia collection at the end of the pen tip. It is black bullion wire.
