The name on the label appears to be Dronning,Bad Segeberg
Is this correct as I cannot find any info relating to that name ?
Sorry, can't edit my post ..I meant Dornning,Bad Segeberg
Post war. Have a look here:

Thankyou Ade for that very informative link.
I looked at the cap images on every page in that thread and saw some near identical hats in all grey and all blue but none with a black top and grey cloth visor.
I was wondering if my cap could be Marine/Navy related ?
I noticed that a number of posters mentioned the piping as a means of further indication and as it is not clear from my pics, the piping on my hat is silver.
No navy relation, it is, as Ade said, a post war BW-officer's cap which some half-wit dyed black (at least the cover) and added a chin-strap that looks like a WH one.
See here: Bundeswehr caps, cap badges and other collectables,
here: Current Bundesheer officer visor cap
and here (post # 219): Bundeswehr peaked caps.
Thankyou for your input on my BW-officers cap ErWeSa, and also for providing the links to further my research.
The only thing I have invested in this cap is curiosity .. I bought it very cheaply at a S/H shop and it was described only as "Old German cap".
It appears a previous owner has gone to some lengths to make this something it isn't.
On close examination you can see the cloth part just above the visor is still grey.
