Re: Heer infanterie schirmmütze
Hi Mo
construction wise it is spot on for the govt. contract cap. No worries there.
Regulation wise the air vents are not correct BUT there are original photos of guys wearing them. I think there is a thread here or on the WAF about them.
I have never seen a govt contract cap with them other than the post war border police ones that have been made up as TR. Air vents on the police caps in TR era are normal.
So on army caps it's whether you like them or not and whether you can sell it on because of the above comments.
For me if its a good price I would have it as an example/ novelty cap but if you want a standard one I would wait.
hope that helps...............a little
cheers

Re: Heer infanterie schirmmütze
Cap LOOKS authentic, but those vents, even if period done, will certainly limit the ability to resell this cap in the future. Plenty of no-question infantry caps available. Just my 1 1/2 cents worth.

Re: Heer infanterie schirmmütze
Is the cap re-banded? It appears that it is obscuring the piping just to the right of the wreath.

Not sure, I will ask. Thank you for all of your comments!
I was sure that it was a contract cap but the air vents interested me. I like it and I'm not really interested in ever reselling any of my collection.
I do like the cap but I think I will go for the artillery one I posted instead. Thanks again for your comments gentlemen.
