LTC--it is a postwar Pekuro Firemans cap with an added TR badge.

(there never was a "Landwacht" visor during the TR--the badges were worn on civilian caps)

BTW, if the wool body is black, it is actually a Miner's visor (still postwar)

Also, if you see "PEKURO" as part of the sweatband perforation, it is always postwar.
The funky "alligatoring" of the visor finish is also common to postwar BRD visors.

Yes looks like they tried to erase the give away perkuro in the sweatband

Here is a photo of a phony Landwacht visor--both the hat and badge are real, but only a standard police eagle was worn (old pic from a book)

Here is a Gendarmerie Officer visor with a postwar added Landwacht eagle

I'm glad I came across this thread before I got suckered in again. I was almost drawn into bidding on this lovely looking "so called" Landwacht visor by the beautiful saddle shape. Thanks gents, you saved me some coin once again.

    Cheers, Al

Glad to be of help. IMO, the hat is an original Artillery visor, late Weimar/early TR.
(Note the 2 holes on either side of the cockade for a wreath).
