Well....Chris...that is a classical late war eReL...
looks great
Good condition.....
Guys, am I the only one concerned about how messy the pleats look; the empty holes in the lining; and the fact that the winged wreath is not sewn thru the lining, as it is on every Erel Luftwaffe I have seen?:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Im certainly not the one to ask about these, as I dont collect them, but if you are concerned, then Im concerned!
I can certainly see the issues, that you point out.
I remember something that BenVK had said about another visor a few months back that had holes where there shouldnt be, but to be honest i was going to say something but felt that the post was put up by a very experienced collector such as yourself , also the amount of fraying at the pleats suggested to me that part of the lower lining had been removed and been restitched higher up , but i cannot say that with any authority
BTW, the pasteboard on the Generals appears to be untreated.
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Does it check out in every other way? Is this the only flaw?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Chris Chris....I have no problem with that cap...peace and love
Your winged wreath has been just glued...I restore many caps since a long time now, and the wreath insignia cap are very boring to add...
