M38 Heer General's cap?

Hello guys, I'm seriously considering bidding on this cap tomorrow. I'm sure some of you have seen it, it looks to me like an M38 General's sidecap. According to a book I have similar caps are worth around $2000? I've been studying this thing for a while now, and I can't seem to find anything wrong with it. But just to be sure, before I lay down any money, what do you guys think? Thanks for any assistance

PS: If it's real, nobody better bid on it, it's mine!

What is it supposed to be? a Generals tropical sidecap? Based on these photos, I would pass for sure.

Not a good one to bid on IMO. They have done the soutache very nicely but the material is suspect enough to make it difficult to sell on.
