In case any doubt adheres, the first item posted here is a fake, it may have some real parts in it or not.

The things I have enclosed are authentic.

I wouldn't have thought that anyone would think it was real FB I'm just amazed that it has been put up for sale on a dealers website for that amount of money, if it was real, a General's cap would exceed double that. The description made me cringe ...........

Allgemeine SS generals black visor cap, smooth high grade material possibly a fine tricot ,typical orange oil cloth lining with gold foil blocked SS runes under the sweatshield size stamped in gold '54' ,RZM stamp to the visor which is typically the diamond criss cross design ,the sweatband is forehead perforated with one small split to one side ,under the sweatband is stamped'H3 39' and 'IIX'.the lining is hand stitched as would be expected with its insignia looks like it has never been removed, the deaths head/totenkopf is a fine example showing a small amount of oxidation, the national eagle just shows some random staining, though both are finely executed, the visors velvet band is perfect overall as is the silver wire piping which is of 2 different diameters, narrower around the velvet band with a larger diameter around the crown ,I'd say this is more of a Teleform style, silver officer cap cords are of the thick diameter type.this cap seems unissued ,as it's relatively small size and a date of '39' as the SS were moving over to its use of field grey with the iconic black rarely worn after the start of the war.this is a beautiful ,very rare highly desirable cap in almost perfect condition

And this from the same seller!!

The breathless hyper ventilation in order to shove fakes, as well as the indignation about the former hyper ventilation, embody hourly features
of this pursuit. The digital space means that these silly descriptions all now are virtually identical on the world's continents.
What is exceptional, however, are images of real material counterpoised to the fakes.
The latter is not found with any ease, if my examination of Google images is any guide.
    Happy hats.

Fifty years had to pass before I could purchase from a fine member here a real black SS senior leader cap.
