Hi
it's tatty but original IMO.
Lining is unusual. Has it been replaced to make up for original being lost with the sweatband ?
Also I reckon it started life as other ranks not officer but that's no problem

Apparently this didn't have the black sweat on it. I think its marked 1933 or 1934, thanks for the quick reply (:
Hi
Ok if it's that early then that explains the lining as the rust coloured tpye came in 1934 ish onwards.
What colour is the cap band...dark green or field grey ?
It would still have had a sweatband at some point though.
cheers
tony
Its more of a green than a grey however, its not dark green from other caps I have seen, was this type of colour sweat seen on NCO caps?
Brown leather ot tan on these early caps.
As far as the inners are concerned for the sweatband I seem to recall where it would have been placed, almost like it was forced out or the stitching was loose from over-wear. Can the sun dry it out?
I would spend your money on a better cap.
