Need help on NSFK skull cap

I have only seen one other one close to this one in the C.E. Daniel collection. His cap is brown. I have shown this to numerous local collectors and at 1st sight they say pakistan patch, but when they look inside they are as lost as I am. The patch is machine stiched to the leather only...is not stiched to liner and the liner has never been restitched. My wife is a great seamstress and ssys that the patch was put on the leather prior to finishing the cap.The cap itself is definatley pre- war. Please any thoughts????
