NEED HELP u boot captain hat

Article about: I learned a long time ago that when it is necessary to continually try to convince myself that an item is genuine, IT IS NOT. This cap is definitely a piece of 4th Reich junk! If you do not

I have my doubts. E-bay is full of fakes and repros, and you must
really be careful. If it were genuine, it would be
    worth a few grand, IMO.

I don't suppose you paid a lot for it.........?
    Regards,

    Steve.

It is always beneficial to ask questions such as this one (the most common) BEFORE YOU BUY...

    Good luck.

I paid $250 for this one! Ask questions such as "is it original?" ?? Can't you tell if it's replica or not? I haven't paid yet so you can save me $250...

I would forget it, if thats all it cost then i would be very doubtful as to authenticity, especially with poor limited photos as these, as Steve said E-bay is notorious for these type deals

I think it is a repro ! The bullion work looks too new and arthritic - Made in India, maybe ?
Was it advertised as an original ?

It should have been closer to $2,500 US and a whole lot more if it was genuine,
plus it would be a good thing to have some provenance with it, like,
    who the original owner was.

Also, there would have been at least 20 or 30 bids on it, IMO,
because a cap like this would be something extremely
    desireable - if original !
    Regards,

    Steve.

Take a close look at the chinstrap in pic no.2. The rough finish to the edges, and grey colour therein, show that it is neither of any quality or age. Look at it, it's new!

Furthermore, the quality of stitching that is the 'scrambled egg' or gold oak leaves on the brim is not up to scratch. That plus asking price, in my opinion, = BOGUS.
