Default Opinions needed on Luftwaffe EM/NCO, Division Hermann Göring Schirmmütze

    Hi guys,

I will receive this beauty of a cap tomorrow probably and shall post some more detailed photos then. The cap is unmarked. I have gotten this cap from a most trustworthy source and I am quite convinced myself that it is a war-time original. However, I am quite new to headgear and experienced members might see things that I don't see. And besides I always like to get confirmation on authenticity from a different source than myself (inexperienced as I am) and the dealer.

So I would appreciate any input whatsoever regarding this somewhat rare cap!

    Thanks in advance.

(If these pictures aren't good enough, please wait for me to post some better ones when I receive it).

I have serious reservations about the cap also.
The leather chinstrap has no age to it, the visor the same.
I absolutely do not like the interior liner.
It is my opinion that it is a replica cap.

    Hi guys,

I shall post much better photos when I receive it, and if it still doesn't look any better then, I shall have to return the cap. Which will be no problem. According to the seller this is supposed to be a near-unworn cap.

Even if it is a repro for sure, taking the effort to post some good close-up pictures of it will at least provide some good reference material for the forum

I have now received the cap and my belief that this is an original cap has only been strengthened. It looks right IMO, it feels right, it smells pretty much identical to my original Heer cap. The sweat-diamond acts and sounds just like the sweat-diamond on my original Heer cap when manipulated. It is not plastic. Furthermore I have blacklighted all parts of the cap and there was no reaction. The photos from the dealer were very poor indeed at showing the cap's true condition. The insignias are also IMO original aluminium insignia with great detail.

I welcome ALL opinions positive or negative based on these new photos! If it is a fake, I want to know guys. I should probably have waited till I had had the chance to take these photos before I started this thread.

Please note that because of the flash the sweatband may sometimes appear much more reddish than it actually is. The lining also looks kind of "glittery" on some photos due to the flash. The piping also appears more white and vivid than it is due to the flash. The piping is actually quite yellowish white. So don't put so much weight on these aspects.

I will start with the exterior:

I see your way of thinking, however I have seen original caps in better condition than this one, Salonete. Look very closely at some of the pictures, and you'll see signs of wear in many places.
