Opinions Please. Heer Winter Fur Cap.

Hello all. Could I please get your thoughts on this winter fur cap? The cap looks good to me but my main concern is the eagle. Does everything check out ok? Thanks for the help!

I can't comment on originality but i love the fur's color!!! If original it's a lovely hat!!

Thanks lebus. Are you talking about the second set of numbers (0317?) I thought the date was 1943 and not 1948 even though the 3 looks like an 8.

No problem that it starts with 1.

As mr. Ade wrote in the RBNR thread:

"In our field of militaria collecting, the most frequently observed numbers will be zero, one or nine. “0", "1" and "9" could be used by manufacturing companies, main contractors or subcontractors."

I have seen many of these starting with 1. Better pic of the eagle would be nice.

Appears to me to be a nice condition Pelzmutz rabbit fur cap I have three or four all have a eagle pinned to them sometimes the fur is so thick that it obscures the eagle can't say on yours by the picture but I think you are correct on the 43 date RBN no is fine by me Ade would be able to help with that I have found that hardly none of these have the identical colored fur yours is unique I don't have one quite like that one. timothy
