    Hello Gents
A rather nice old chap is offering me this original German mountain cap, supposedly brought back from the Mount Cassino area during the war by a family member. all and all it looks pretty dam good the price is right and his story is right as the Kiwis faught one of their biggest battles there.
But something about it dosnt sit right.
Can anyone put my mind at ease and tell me there nothing wrong with it ??
    Cheers lads

    Good looking cap.
No clue as to what might be wrong with it though.

Cap looks good but with the wrong eagle on it - should be a trap, this looks like one off an officers visor.
Maybe original was removed and this fitted post war??

Looks like this is trying to be a Officer cap but with no silver piping around the top ,To me looks put together ,maybe a original cap but would be good to see the lining of the hat , The cockade looks to have been taken from the center of a peak cap cockade and maybe the eagle has been taken from the same hat ?

I'm wondering why the peak is made from different material, personally there's something screwy about it,I'd like to see the interior as well

I've just looked closely at the peak stitching ,I think its been messed with,ie different peak added, poss post war, or its a mock up
