IMHO the answer is no, it is no original WW II item. I'm no specialist for this kind of cap but, making caps myself, I wouldn't dare to sell something like this.
Don't know anything about insignia, they could, however, be real, but wait for the specialists for these.

Hello,
This cap would have never been sold in a cap maker's shop, it is not a privately purchase cap, it's a locally made item, most probably made by a company tailor or one of his helpers, for two theater tickets, one bottle of schnaps or a week of leave...
This kind of cap patterned after the woolen Einheitsfeldmütze and made of Zeltbahnen is well documented. Many were made.
The key here is the provenance. if there's not any, then it's for you to decide if she's good or not...as the date of its making could be 1944, 1972 or 1985...
Thanks

What makes me also think is that the seams look like having been sewn yesterday whereas the badge looks quite worn with holes of stiches which weren't used for the attachment on this cap. The buttons (wood?): one was sewn on with brown thread, the other with blue. Always ready to be corrected, though.

The buttons (wood?)
yes, it is wood (100% original buttons)
yes, one was sewn on with brown thread, the other with blue (maybe they dropped out and were sewn back again)

I stopped having an opinion for such an item, as only the provenance matters here.
Was it made yesterday ?
Is it an original cap that has been debadged in 1945 and rebadged in 1995 ?
Is it an original cap where a recycled insignia was applied on during it's making (recycled from another cap) ?
high fake flaps that can't be unbuttoned, buttons and overall cut are not bad, i've seen worse.
I have handled maybe twenty of these camo caps in my collecting life and the feeling is almost the same everytime...pffff..yeah....
ErWeSa, below is an example that you would have been proud to make and sell (if i can say so).
This one is very nice, well made and has an ultra big advantage over the one that opened this thread : we're sure it's 100% genuine...
Thanks
