Default PEKÜRO ARTILLERIE VISOR SCHIRMMÜTZE - opinions on this one ?

    Hallo Freunde

Some days ago i got myself an early Christmas present - this nice "Peküro"- Artillerie Schirmmütze in what i consider good condition
As i am far of being an expert on Visor Caps, i come humbly here, where the experts are , as i am eager to read your opinions and comments about this Cap.
Consider that i ( - or many people that might read this post), know only little or nothing on VisorCaps or Peküro or Fabrics etc. so any comment is good..

    Grüsse aus Mexiko

Hat itself is good, but the visor is unusual for Pekuro--it may be a replacement.

Yeah, and there is some stitching and a part where the visor is kinda loose.. in case of bein a replacement, i strongly hope that it is not some postwar mod. Even thou the cap is near mint, i would not see the reason to replace the visor, as if the visor would have been damaged as bad as to be replaced, the rest of the cap may have suffered too.... Any info about about its temporality? I believe the grey fabric could give the expert info on that?

PEKÜRO ARTILLERIE SCHIRMMÜTZE - opinions on this one ?As Mr. Mint notes, the peak is not original to this cap.
Do yourself a big favor, and concentrate on items in fairly good shape.
Army artillery caps are not really rare and you can easily find a nice one at a sane price.
The Grenadier Auction had many nice caps at modest prices, for instance...
With the hypercritical collector sphere, flaws in such items are magnified many times over by those whose only joy in life is pointing out trivial defects in other people's property.
If you got this cap for ten dollars US, then it is worth it. If the cap has cost in the range of such items, I would aver to another, more intact item.
You can also repair the thing, but that is costly and takes a lot of effort to find the right person.

I have no idea how one finds Nazi regalia in Mexico City, but it is very prevalent in the USA, with many sources to choose from in detail.

Actually this is an ESPENLAUB MILITARIA cap... i would be quite worried if one can´t trust one of the few WRF - sponsors, as in the add there was no comment about mods in visors or peaks.. I admit, the cap was definitively not in the 2000 USD- range, but as one can imagine, it was not near to cheap, not 10 dollars at all..
What should i make of it? Is it not good or fairly acceptable, or cool?
This is the reason that we "non-specialists" post & ask here.. to learn from people wit far more experience...

I have never heard anything negative regarding Espenlaub. As previously stated, the cap is period original and the only question is if the visor was replaced at some time or a late war period variant. This can only be determined with an in hand examination. In the past, I have bought from them without any problems.

PEKÜRO ARTILLERIE SCHIRMMÜTZE - opinions on this one ?Thanks, as ever, to Bob, for his wise counsel. I have often looked at the Espenlaub site for SS things, and always found only authentic things there.
The question in this thread is the artillery cap. My thesis is the peak is not of the type (hand lacquered with an underside lacquer to match the lining, etc.)
as would be found on this kind of Kupper cap. Such a statement in no way impeaches a person, I believe, who has added greatly to the success of this site
and I would not want to doubt this person. If you ask me to comment on an issue of fact, I adhere to those facts and that data. A pivot off into some
other ad hominem attack on an individual etc. is not helpful.

    Ladies & Gentlemen,
I know I am late in this discussion but I just wanted to draw your attention on this fact: Pleuser® Mützenschirme , the "Russian peak" ("russische Prägung") perhaps this is the solution to this problem. There are, BTW, other examples with this "double-lipped" peak, which are said to be of German origin. Beutestücke? In the later war years everything was used for German uniforms: Italian etc. cloth, steel helmets of various origin etc. etc. - just a thought, so why not peaks for caps? - Just my opinion which I can't prove by any primary sources.

    Hello Mr. Friedrich-Berthold

I did not attack anybody, and i case i came over agressive or mean, i do humbly apologize, as this was never my intention.
    Only that comments like:

"Do yourself a big favor, and concentrate on items in fairly good shape"
    or
"If you got this cap for ten dollars US, then it is worth it."

...dont sound cool or reconforting in my ears, sprecially after buying a rather expensive cap , from one of the very few reliable sellers out there, as i consider it in good shape (no stains, moth bites, keeps its shape etc.), and well... it cost me a little much more than the recommended 10 USD..
I never doubted Espenlaub, therefore i bought from them ( and will continue to do so..). As all here, i am just trying to figure out howw all makes sense.. with the help of the professionals like you and others.. You are the masters, i am the student, eager to learn, but that might sometimes imply questions to the lessons... i believe its goot to be critic (thats why i am here). And again, if i came over in an evil way, i do beg Entschuldigung, as that was nicht die Idee...
