Re: Rabbit Fur Winter Cap...Thoughts???
There were quite a few different versions of these winter caps - often with an eagle/often without an eagle. Soldiers added eagles themselves.

Hi pie. Thanks for your reply. So what do you think, is it original?

Re: Rabbit Fur Winter Cap...Thoughts???
It is a good cap. I have 2 different types ,Infantry and Police, with sewn metal cap insignia direct from veterans.

Re: Rabbit Fur Winter Cap...Thoughts???
Hi SteveR. I guess this goes to show how important it is to do the research and get feedback from others before dismissing something. Since posting this I've found at least two similar caps with sewn eagles so I'm glad I posted it here
What do you think is a fair price to pay for this? Again, I've never come across one of these and you have two similar caps.

Re: Rabbit Fur Winter Cap...Thoughts???
The one shown seems to be in real good shape. I would think $175 TO $200 for a value.
They are not rare. Normally made from rabbit fur but can be found in more exotic furs donated for winter clothing by civilians. If the hide of the fur is stiff, split, moth eaten or dropping fur it is worth much less. A few hairs coming out is not bad though. A bunch is trouble.
