All you need is a Heer Kav visor, some thread, and steady hands, and you can increase your "investment" 20-fold:

I read a sign of re-banding is if you feel lumps on the velvet with your fingers then it has been re-banded. I guess you really need to see caps in hand now to be 100% sure It's all original.

Plus you also need to reconstitute a cap maker from 1939 to put the thing back together in half way order of the original versus persons alive today, save for Ben VK.
