Kepi's are not something I read about unfortunatly. I am sure Mr.Coleman or the others will give a valid Authentification.

Ade, I see alot of thoes sweatbands on fake caps. Did period caps ever have this kind of sweat band?

As Ade stated, a fake cap with incorrect construction. The front button should be a smooth finish no pebbled, poorly fit sweatband, new leather chin strap and incorrect cotton twill base material. Here are two genuine examples of the pre-1833 kepi for your information and study.

The contrast between the fake and the real items could not be greater.
