FB you are as ever correct, HBAB is the acceptance mark for the army clothing depot in Berlin.

To be sure, there are fake stamps, but the stamps in this cap strike me as authentic. The clothing economy of the German military is well interpreted in the book I have enclosed here.
The Verwaltungsamt SS stamp is also faked, but never well.

I will have to unearth my clothing quarter master book, which details the stamp issue in detail, at least ca. 1937 or so. But the book I enclosed also has a lot of information on same.

FB, The stamps in Shea's example are 100% correct IMO. That was never in doubt.

Very nice article and essentially the same material as in the book I have enclosed. Again, the key is the order of battle of the army and its evolution, as well as handbooks on military administration, which I actually own.
Needless to say, the RZM was a legacy of these first world war quartermaster and uniform depot system, but nazified.
