When I say no signs of funny business I mean...no covert attempts to resew or alter the cap.

You also have reverse-twist chincords on the cap:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Sorry, but your statement on Ebay says: "Stitching is original and well done with no signs of funny business. The cap is 100% original and is almost impossible to find under $10K". That is an outright misrepresentation. In no way, shape or form did you qualify your statement on Ebay.
Why is the hat being listed as being sold out of California, when you are in Georgia?
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
I changed my address but it didn't take. My job moves me a lot, recently I was in Pakistan for 400 days that turned a lot of heads too.
I'll change my statement to be more accurate. The cap is old and cotton thread does not always hold up over time. Why is that so hard to believe?
The area in the front has very old repair stitching. It doesn't appear to be anything else.
Looks like you didn't change the statement, but deleted the listing....
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
A lot of very informed collectors say it is a copy and I respect their opinions and knowledge on this.
Regards,
Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
Bottom line:
1. Fake insignia;
2. OKK marked;
3. Re-stitching to the entire sweatband;
4. Reverse-twist cords;
5. Blocked grommet

Actually I didn't get a chance. It's been deleted by Ebay.
