Tank Beret

I got this beret at an auction cause I thought it was unusual. I found out it is a tankers beret. Can any tell me anything about it? Thanks.

The crash helmet is a modified Bundeswehr Pz item from the early 1960s, disguised to look of the pre 1940 period.
The beret top part is too small, and the insignia is fake.

My enclosure is one of three of these things I owned in former times.

The beret cover to the crash helmet part is made of what is a sweater like woolen, woven like a well made pullover. In a circular pattern, too,
with the pom pom part.

The real thing is heavy and large.

Odd that in the pics of the eagle insignia, they appear
both from the front and reverse ? ! Is it a separate
item.........?

The Bw reintroduced a beret for armored crews as part of a return to the past with its uniforms in the early 1960s.

These old Bw berets are around. I own one, in fact, but it is the Bw olive drab, which is similar to SA and RAD colors.
