I'm sure the specialists will see at first glance what is the matter with this cap even without pictures of the inside which I would need (and even then perhaps could not decide about its authenticity) but there is at least one feature to be seen in the picture which in most cases gives away a fake. Let's wait for the real experts.

OK, the inside makes it clear, obivous fake - sorry!

We have lots of images of authentic caps of this type, if you care to look.
What you enclose is a nice, garden variety fake, but hardly one that would fool an informed collector.
After all, the original cap of this type was made in 1934 until about 1937 or so, which is a very, very long time ago, is it not?
please don't be sorry. I'm just sorry for the poor sod that pays £3850 asking price for this piece. God Help Us All!
