As you say, it looks like a good CW cap, and you say it too, there are so many good fakes out there. I can't tell from these photos whether this is original or not - it looks fine and has some nice details which I like but you'd have to have it in hand to do a thorough inspection of the "bowels" - stuffing, seams, weight etc. to be sure(er). F.-B. with his enormous experience perhaps could have told from these pics alone. I don't know anything about insignia, either - so perhaps the specialists for these will chime in and enlighten us. The same goes for the black cap BTW.

It is missing the insert behind the sweatband, which is unusual.
Almost all SS-CW visors were unmarked, and the ones that I have seen marked were WH "converted" to SS postwar--this could be one of those.
