I got an answer by BenVK. It's an original one.
Thank you again Ben!

Why would someone be taking inventory in the 1950's of SS caps??

A film studio using original items? ..... now there's a turn up for the books!

Yes! After reading the answer of BenVK I found some other M43 caps from this studio, all originals!
I think, around 5 years after the war, they couldn't imagine how it will cost in the futur.

One word of general caution here.
The Statni hoard of caps was a legitimate find back in the 1990's. This one looks good.
However, fakes have had these markings applied to them for some time now.
Cheers, Ade.

At one time it was easier and cheaper to use originals than it was to have copies made. I have some original wartime KM trousers with prop department stamps.
