    It is an old fake. It came from Scandinavia at the end of the 1990s. It was sold by an Australian personage with a public profile, let us say, while remaining vague.

    Don't waste your time. I actually think that Mr. Mint has a picture of this cap in one of his cap bins.

    A word of advice: as concerns grey SS peaked caps, avoid the many, many traps associated with this widely faked regalia. Authentic examples are quite few.

    There are authentic grey SS caps for sale on the Whammond Collector's Guild site and on the Grenadier Military Anitques site. There may be others of which I am not aware.

    Neither of these has Waffenfarbe, per se, but the white color that was prescribed for most of the time, save in 1940.
