Never seen one like it before but it seems authentic.
Price was reasonable and the condition is good so what the hell, I bought it.
Chris will probably know what it is!

Interesting, looks like some type of veterans cap possibly interesting cap
It was advertised as Länderpolizei but I'm thinking maybe some kind of judiciary cap.
The annoying thing is that in the back of my mind, I think I've seen this colour combination before but can't remember where now..
Almost looks a bit Weimar from the insides.... ersatz sweatband and reddish backside to visor. Also, are there any tell tale prong marks or ghosting from previous insignia in front? Thanks!
Hi Nigel, I would agree with the Weimar connection.
Only bought it a few hours ago from Germany so don't have it in hand yet.
Whatever it is, it's a rare cap I'm sure because I have regularly browsed the auction sites for years but not seen one like this before.
I was hoping the Saris books would help as there are so many unique obscure units and organizations for Freikorps and Stahlhelm alone...but this cap is hard to pidgeon hole for sure! LOL~~~~ may be German Tannenbaum loggers association transport!
So long as it's not a cap for the Hannover frankfurter makers association, I'll be happy!
BVK, those sausage stuffers deserved their own cap too! LOL....as for Tannenbaum loggers, look for a prussian rosette surrounded by pine bows.
