1st pattern pith helmet

Hey gang...Thought I'd post something a little different. It's my first pattern German pith helmet. What I like about this one is that the sweat stains are still present on the front of the helmet. I'd love to know where this one was used. I've also added some sun goggles to the lid to "add some character"....

Used it once to cut the grass as a gag....My wife took a picture and I have it somewhere - me on the riding mower wearing my pith helmet.....I'll have to find it.

Thanks guys! I know, I know....I was goofing around one summer and decided to take it out for a spin on the riding mower....it was a gag and got the wife giggling. I still have to locate that pic! I think it's on a memory stick somewhere!

Hey Pierre, the difference is really in the material that was used. I don't have a picture but the late pattern pith is more greenish in colour and has a somewhat different construction. I think the second pattern piths are more common.
