1943 Aussie Slouch hat

The newest addition to the collection is this 1943 Aussie slouch hat. Never owned one of these before and I am really impressed to finally have one. Great all original condition with its leather band and chinstrap still in place. Maker is N.121. Pity the patch is no longer in place but it certainly doesn't detract from the hat.

This is exactly the way I like my militaria. Its been issued and has been out on the field and used. Its certainly not falling apart but its not been on the sidelines either.

Many thanks goes to Tony (ATMG) for this one. He found this in Sydney and managed to pick it up and send it over to me in Perth.

I've loved the Aussie slouch hat since seeing the movie STONE way back when....
I use a Vietnam era one as a yard / mowing hat to keep the sun off the baldness!

I used to wear one when I was tour guiding up bush, I still wear the same one now in the garden and on fishing trips.

Thanks guys, it's certainly a one looker, still over the moon with it.

I should of has one when I was installing patio's, would have been a lot better than what I had.
