G'day All
This one has been in the bottom of my post war wardrobe for a very long time, I reckon it deserves a mention as it's late Vietnam period.
I have no clue on the insignia it once had, but I'd like to whack something on, any ideas?

Re: Aussie Officer Peaked Cap Army 71-72 date
Nice cap Rene!! Are the holes where the badge once was, North and south? Skippy badges have gone crazy in the last few years and sell for $50+ not sure why though... But they have their lugs in the East/West position If so you may have to go with something else.
Can you measure the distance between the two holes and I will have a look in my collection at what badge has lugs like that.

Alright then, for someone who is an ignorant pom, just what the heck are a RAINF and SKIPPY badges, apart from cap badges?
(Skippy was a "Bush Kangaroo" in a kids programme over here in the 1960s/70s!)
Regards etc

'Royal Australian Infantry Corps'-see the badge as my current Avatar and 'Skippy' is 'Royal Australia Regt (RAR)', the Regular army's infantry brigade/corps-badge features a kangaroo and boomerang.
As far as the TV show is concerned, it's still shown here as a late night/early mornng filler along with 'Spyforce', 'The Avengers' and 'Dangerman' etc.

Royal Australian Infantry Corps may be your best option Rene.
35mm between pins with north south alignment.
Hope this helps you mate.
