Canadian Hawley piths

Here are my two Canadian Hawley trooper piths and other ?
some advice sought please . I believe that some of the New Zealand boys in the pacific theatre wore these in the islands , but why did they not get US issue piths instead of Canadian made piths ?
also the one pith made of what looks and feels like cardboard is obviously not military issue but any ideas why its Hawley stamped JUNGLE HAT - 281 or 251
