Cap, Field, Cotton, OD, With Visor, M43

I haven't seen too many of these on this forum, here's a 1st pattern with the air vents.

Hi Rene,.....I am not familiar with the field caps ,I have this one that i would like some info on,,,the material is herring bone twill,the air vents are about 1'' from the top band,no tags or markings on the interior.......Thanks....DAVE H

Dave, your cap or should i say 'cover' is USMC.The herringbone weave differs from that of the Army.The Marine's is zig-zag where the Army's has plain part inbetween.

Looks like a USMC cover but with army HBT material. the army also had a HBT cap similar to the USMC but less bagged out at the front crown.
I don't have either example
