grenadier guards cap badge

hi this is a picture of my grandad in the grenadier guards,ive just had it coloured in by bill t.
can anybody tell me more about the lad in the middle with the stick,he seems to have a different cap badge and hes wearing a tie.
any info would be good,you may need to zoom in a bit

Cap badge would have been the same basic design but made of bronze metal.

The other chap wears the Service Dress jacket as opposed to the 1937 pattern Battledress worn by everyone else.

At this stage in the war, only Officers were allowed to wear ties with the BD blouse pressed open at the neck.

hi nick,my grandad thinks its at windsor,but hes not 100%,his minds going now,who would of thought, he would of been running round with a thompson when you see him now

ade my mamma still has his cap badge,its got a little hole in it where my grandad had to keep polishing it
