info on a Merchant Navy Beret

Hello !
I purchase this beret and i would like to have some info on it . It's the first time i see a white top beret with a Merchant navy crest on it .Is someone have ever seen this kind of beret or it's a pure fake ? Post war ? there is no date inside
My thought is could it be Veteran association beret ?

Did a little research and Parkhurst out of Toronto has been manufacturing headwear since 1926 wish I could be of more help.

I did some little research and the white beret that Veteran of the merchant navy wore is because of the convoy they were in to go to Russia but the entire beret is white not like mine who is half white and half black . Hopefully someone will have more info on this .

Hey Frenchy! long time no hear. I like the beauty school mannquin heads you have. I have one myself which I display my ww2 headgear. I went to beauty school but dropped out!....LOL isnt "beauty school dropout" a song on the movie 'GREASE'?! Wasnt one of the actresses that sang it named 'Frenchy'? Wow.. I didnt think about that until now!
