Perhaps I showed this before so If so I apologise. Well not Army it is related in a way as it is a from a senior warden of the Royal Household. The construction and style match those of military caps yet the Top material is slightly lighter. I have as yet been unable to find out more on its rank but nevertheless it is an unusual cap and displays well.

    Michael,
The Household Cavalry cap with 5 rows of braid on the peak ( if I counted correctly!) is for the Regimental Corporal Major, a WO1 rank.
Sergeant is not used in the HC. It should also have an officer-type badge, gilt & enamel.

Hi Bob, I had a feeling that it was for a RCM and that the badge was incorrect but hoped that you or someone like you would come up with the correct info!! So Bob, thank you very much. All I need now is the right badge.

With thanks and best wishes Michael.

    Michael,
You can likely find the correct officer type badge on Ebay. Prices tend to be quite varied; I believe you can find a good one for not much money.
