Nice cap. Can anyone tell me more about these Warrant Officer caps? I believe I've seen some with a black band instead of the golden mohair type on this one, why is that?

A rear bird, indeed!

I've heard that the black band was for the ones who didn't graduate as officers (failed).

Some USAAF officer caps also had black band on, however, period photos are very rear.

Does the chin cord has a small buckle at the back of the cap?

Most AAF ones has that feature.

thank you for the reply. I know the later Korean war era ones have a black band, visor, and chinstrap on them.
