Default My US Visor Cap Collection

    Hi All,
I thought I would start a thread to share my growing US visor cap collection. Nothing too fancy here however still, at least to me, a nice representation of various US visor Caps.

There are some earlier caps that I’m still on the hunt for/are out of my price range at the moment, however I hope to obtain them in due time.

As I acquire more, I will update this thread. Thanks for looking!

Kepi manufactured for Pennsylvania Military College by Horstmann. This particular style of kepi would have been used at the college from 1903 to 1929. It is missing the plume, chin cord, a chin cord button and the leather sweatband has become detached. Despite those flaws, the bullion insignia is in good shape and there are no signs of mothing.

WWII/Post WWII Officers Summer Visor cap. This particular cap is named to a GUGLE, JAMES L. who, according to his record on NARA, reenlisted in November, 1945 as a S/Sgt (period when he was in possession of this cap) however is also listed on a 1930 census as being stationed at Fort Francis E. Warren in Wyoming, a Quartermaster Corps training center.

Up next is the same style visor, made by Bancroft. It appears someone has affixed a USAF Officers insignia. Not sure if this was done by the original owner or by an unknowing collector, however I like it's look and will leave it as is.

A nice EM/NCO WWII Crusher style visor. Based on the wear to the sides, this appears to have been converted to a crusher style since war time. Manufactured out of the Philadelphia Depot.

I believe this Officer's visor to be WWII. The top is made of wool and it contains the V for victory style Officer Insignia. Manufactured by Broadstreet's.
