Overseas cap for enlisted Paratrooper

I bought this Overseas cap at an antique store. I then purchased an original enlisted parachute infantryman patch to add on to the cap and complete the look. Does anybody else have one of these examples or ever seen one? I just want to make sure that the cap is the right one for the patch. I used a picture in Warman's ww2 collectibles 2nd edition to compare patch with



cap.

It looks right but be advised that most collectors tend to look down upon this kind of alteration of original militaria.

I see what you are saying, maybe it is best to just keep the patch and cap the way they are, and just display them together.
